what kind of welding setup to mig weld high-temp stainless

In my initial foray into welding I am looking at welding some 300-series stainless tube, no thicker than 1/4" and more likely 1/8". I have not yet purchased a welding machine, and wanted to get some feedback on how the metal composition impacts what kind of welder I need.
