Customer Segmentation - Can I use an ML model for this problem?

I have a seller segmentation problem where I need to segment the top and bottom N customers based on three variables: sales, Average selling price and product category. However, the thresholds for the ASP and sales can keep changing as we move along in time and hence the top and bottom N also changes. Can someone explain if there is a more predictive method to segment the top and bottom N?
