For example, say you have a bunch of data for all countries on earth, and you want to do cluster analysis on all the features of the data (population size, gdp, life expectancy, etc etc).
But in actuality, you are only interested in which group your country belongs to (e.g. USA).
So say you do a cluster analysis, and you get out a bunch of groups. You find the group USA as in, and all you care about is the names of the countries in that group/cluster.
But this seems kind of an indirect way to get to that cluster, since I would be generating a whole bunch of clusters that I just throw away at the end. Is there a better algorithm more suited to get what I want?
