Coffee Asked by fauve on January 5, 2021
I search if any old or still existing religion had (or have) a coffee’s god, like Aztecs had a Cacao god.
As I read, the legendary person who discover the coffee is Kaldi. He was Muslim, then he was not polytheist. But anyway, it still could be possible that other politest religions was inspired from this story to add a new god to their pantheon or at list to add the coffee as attribute to an existing god.
As example, I see that Oromo people who discover the coffee, according to the legend, was from Waaqeffanna religion before they was converted to Christianity and Islam. So probably in their old tradition they could have a divinity or at least a saint for the coffee.
So, finally is it a religion or spirituality who have a god or saint for coffee?
