Hypertrophy of muscle fibers requires an adequate (significant, really) intake of protein, but what about just forming new myosatellite cells as a response to a stress applied to the muscle? Does that specific process require a comparable level of protein intake, or can satellite cells be generated with significantly less resources than what’s required to augment the muscle fibers themselves?
