Ask Ubuntu Asked by SZTANKAY Zsolt on September 30, 2020
I have a Black Box IC117A-R2 (which is similar/same to Sealevel PC-ACB-MP) PCMCIA card.
I would like to use it under Ubuntu 18.04 i386. The system does not install any driver and therefore cannot detect it.
After searching the Google for days I found nothing useful.
Most sites I found were based on a probably older implementation of the PCMCIA driver with utilities that do not exist on my Ubuntu. The device itself is deprecated, unfortunately. The Sealevel driver does not support the 18.04 kernel ("This package has been primarily tested with kernel versions 2.6.36 through 3.13.0 and may require modification to work properly on earlier and later versions."). I have not tried to compile driver under my 4.15 kernel. I believe it is too far from version 3.13 to work.
Any idea how can I make it work?
