Who was that strange character in Mortal Kombat: Deception Konquest mode?

It’s been a long time since I was playing this game.

I remember a little boy character that Shujinko first met in the very first stages of the game in Earthrealm. He appeared in other scenes too (mostly in Earthrealm) disguising as other MK characters (such as Scorpion, Ermac, etc.)

Every time Shujinko found the character everywhere, he (the strange characters disguised as someone else) said: "Oh no, someone has caught me." and then he disappeared.

Was he someone special or just a funny thing inside the game?
