What are the white lines I see pointing towards walls sometimes?

Running around one of the early dungeons I occasionally see these white perception lines pointing away from me into nothing obvious. They appear similar to the lines shown when searching for traps/secrets.

What are these for? There is absolutely nothing behind that wall that I can find a secret entrance to.
