Problem with deleting Minecraft Mod: Java(TM) Platform SE Binary prevents it

Arqade Asked by Sonica on August 25, 2021

I have been trying to delete Flan’s Mod for Minecraft off my computer. However, every time I try to delete it or move it to the Recycle Bin, a pop-up comes up with the following statement:

“The action can’t be completed because the folder is open in Java(TM) Platform SE Binary.”

I have watched videos about using Taskbar to help, but it doesn’t work because the javaw.exe program keeps recreating itself (and it runs on 154,626 kilobytes of memory)! Is there someone that can assist me with my problem? My computer is a Windows 7 if that helps.

One Answer

Try reinstalling Java - perhaps your current version is outdated.

Also, according to https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-hardware/problems-with-javawexe/a29a2e70-7d2f-4503-bc84-859d64176c48, "abnormal memory usage is a sure sign of a fake file in your system". The issue mentioned is related to javaw.exe, but it is not the same as your issue, but it may help.
