So basically I tried to make a resource pack but I need to find the JAR for 1.12.2. It only shows JSON which is frustrating.
First, I recommend you get 7-Zip. Then go to %appdata% and then .minecraft > versions > x.y.z and get an uncompressed folder using 7-zip. Then delete all the classes, meta, com and net garbage and just leave the assets folder. Inside that folder you can find everything.
