Me and my sister are trying to play terraria together on the same wifi but the world won’t show up?

We both have IPad Air 2s and have tried deleting and installing the game and hard resetting our iPads. Nothing seems to work, I see all of the stuff about port forwarding and hamachi but didn’t know if it was necessary if we were connected to the same internet. Would appreciate any help, thanks!
