I can't find out how to access my minecraft curseforge mods!

My Minecraft forge mods aren’t downloading to the actual mod folder, and moving them to the folder from my downloads just makes them inaccessible through the forge profile. In fact, I can’t even access them from my downloads. This is really pissing me off and I’d like some possible solutions or at least an in-depth walkthrough on starting over. I have Java, jarx, and forge downloaded, so I don’t know what’s wrong.
