How to allow previously unblocked minecraft server through firewall?

Arqade Asked by aqk436b on February 21, 2021

I’ve been playing minecraft for about a week now, frequently hopping onto a specific server. This worked just fine, until yesterday when minecraft kept showing me the connection refused error.
I’ve tried to look up solutions and done the thing where you allow port 25565 through the windows defender firewall manually, but this didnt work as I still couldn’t connect and when I tested through canyouseeme it kept showing the port was closed. Other solutions I’ve found seemed geared towards helping other people set up their own minecraft server, when I’m not interested in this, I simply want to connect to someone elses server. I’ve tried several times now to unblock the port or through "allow an app through windows defender" to allow java connections, but none of these help and I’m starting to lose hope a bit. Does anyone know how to solve this?
