Formula for calculating ranking gain/loss in online/MyClub?

I know that the ranking gain/loss is related to both the difference in rankings and the difference in team strengths of the two players. I actually met some very highly-ranked players (e.g. 1300+) who apparently control the cost of their team in order to eke out more ranking gain per win. Similarly, when I was previously playing Online Division, there were players who use some team from the Asian Champions League.

Just to be clear, this is not something that I’m interested in doing, since 1000 or 1300 doesn’t really make a difference to me as they are just virtual points as long as I’m not making a living out of this.

I’m curious though if anybody knows of an exact formula to calculate the ranking gain/loss in PES, as the input (ranking differences and team cost differences) are out in the open. Surely somebody must have researched this before? I would imagine this is some variation of Elo or some common ranking scheme, but with its own twists.
