Edited version of minecraft skin from skindex will not change

I edited a certain skin on skindex so that I’d like it better, however, no matter what way I try to upload it to my minecraft skin, once it’s uploaded it always shows as the original skin, how it looked like BEFORE I edited it. I’ve downloaded the edited version of the skin multiple different ways, and even used different websites, but it doesn’t work. Anyone have any idea why?
