Chests won't open in Terraria

Question

My personal chests in Terraria stopped opening; only the new chests I place I can open. I also tried to spawn the wall of flesh and it won't spawn; does anyone know why this happened and how I can fix it?

While I don't have an answer for your chests not working, I do have an answer for the Wall of Flesh not spawning. You have to have your Guide alive in a world to spawn in the Wall of Flesh, so if you don't have an open house for your guide or you just didn't wait long enough, he won't have spawned in so you can sacrifice him. Hope I helped!
