Can XBox Networking on Windows 10 use Native IPV6?

Arqade Asked by Matt Lacey on March 2, 2021

Basically, the question is as the title says. I’ve been playing Forza Horizon 4 a lot since it’s on Gamepass, but the networking reliability has been absolutely horrible. I’ve tried all sorts of things, from ensuring all ports are forwarded correctly to using a different Teredo server. In the end I switched my router for another one I had lying around, and joined my ISP’s ipv6 beta program, and got a proper ipv6 connection working. Then to my dismay I found that Teredo was still being enabled and used by Xbox networking, along with the consistent disconnects and other difficulties.

So, the question is not about how I fix Teredo, but simply, does Xbox Networking on Windows have support for native ipv6? It feels as though that should be a more robust solution that relying on what amounts to a proxy server that’s nowhere near my machine.
