Ark connection timeout/unknown error

So basically me and my friend have Ark on Epic. If I create a session he cant join because it says "Connection timeout" or "Unknown Error". I saw somewhere to use Hamachi so we did. When we get in the same network we cant see the hosts Ip which is needed we only see the person who joined the hosts Ip. Anyone know how to fix it? I really wanna play ark with my friend
