Android Enthusiasts Asked by Abdul Sadik Yalcin on March 8, 2021
So, I received a marshmallow update which buggered up the phone. After boot, it kept on saying android.process.acore
has stopped with Google+
and an infinite loop asking me to report the error.
I don’t know what I did but now I just get a screen saying:
*** Software Status: Modified ***
*** LOCKED ***
*** Security Warning ***
M8_UL PVT SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-319.0.0000
I’m stuck on this screen and none of the options do anything.
Hboot
Ramdump
Reboot
Reboot Fastfoot
Power down
What is going on?
I have recently discovered the same problem. Here are the steps which helped in my case (un-rooted phone just stopped loading after vacations):
By "reboot" everything was fine. By "shut down" and "launch" the menu appeared again (phone not plugged to the pc). I chose the same "checksmartsd" and it worked.
I have no idea why it worked. I hope it helps somebody.
Best, Eugene

Download and save the HTC One™ ROM update to your PC.
Connect your device to your PC via the supplied USB cable.
If the device is not recognized by the PC, ensure you have HTC Sync Manager installed and then disconnect and reconnect the device from the USB cable.
Once the device is properly recognized on the PC, locate the HTC One™ ROM Update that you downloaded. Double-click on the file to launch the system update wizard.
Follow all of the system update wizard instructions shown on your PC.
Once the update is complete, click Finish in the Wizard and the device will reboot.
Once the device reboots, the initial setup wizard will appear.
Once the initial setup process is complete, open Play Store and tap the Menu icon, then select My apps and ensure all installed apps are updated.
After initial setup and updating all apps, the device is ready for use.
