Title. The right half of my screen laptop goes white, with strips of color depending on the content (for example, if I’m on a webpage with mostly black text, the screen will go white with black strips). It only happens for less than a second before it fixes itself.
This mostly happens when the lid is moved. I have removed the screen bezel to inspect the internals and I tried poking the screen cable while the laptop is running but I wasn’t able to reproduce the issue. It apparently only happens when the lid is moved.
Looking at the screen doesn’t really reveal any damage so I’m thinking I need to replace the cable to solve the issue.
I can try taking a picture of the problem but it’s hard considering it only happens for less than a second.
My question is, is the problem on the cable or somewhere else? Also, if it’s the cable and it must be replaced, can I safely use the screen while I wait for the cable to arrive?
