Law Asked by Tom on August 2, 2020
I’m wondering if there are any examples of listing common forms of software assets for Exhibit A’s in assignment agreements (like when purchasing or selling assets). For example, GitHub repositories, domain names, published packages on common distribution platforms (like npm or apt), databases and the data they contain, etc. If I were writing a paper, I could easily Google how to "cite" a GitHub repository, but I have yet to find the appropriate way to reference a GitHub account and associated repositories (and the technologies they may contain), in a listing of assets. I’m left just kind of trying to describe these things myself and not knowing whether the language is appropriate (does "repository" need a definition? etc.)
