Application of Visual Sample Plan to composite samples

I have a site in which I would like to compare the site average to a fixed threshold, however, the data that I have for the site are composite samples. The site is subdivided into 17 composite units, 1 acre each, and we collected 12 discrete sample points per composite unit which were averaged in the laboratory and a single concentration was reported per composite unit. Is the VSP function “Compare Average to Fixed Threshold” applicable to composite samples?

Since VSP calculates the minimum number of samples, and each composite unit is one sample, VSPs output should also be applicable to composite samples. Does this make sense?

VSP plots the calculated minimum sample points on a map, which is why I’m not sure if composite units would be applicable.
